INTERPRETERS BIOGRAPHY

Composition and sonorous interpretation, visual composition, board of strings, keyboard, analogical modelling, sampler, theremin and sound captures

João Bento was born in 1980 in Fundão-Portugal, lives in Berlin and Montemor-o-Novo .Since 2004 compose and perform sound for performances, experimental films, theater pieces and video live acts.The work articulates analogical instruments and amplified sound objects, used in multimedia/multidisciplinary artistic context. Graduated in Visual Arts at ESAD, Caldas da Rainha /Portugal.Trained improvised music with the musician Greeg Moore and Theremin with Pamela Kurstin. Between 2004 and 2006 coordinated the Project VS (international experimental video platform ). Co-creator, sound composer and performer in”Canal Zero” (04-11),Untitled Until Today” with Ana Trincão(07-09) . ,“Le Coq is Dead”(05) with Luiz Antunes, Francisco Pedro and Allan Falieri, “Future Perfect”(11) with Kerem Gelebek. Member of Interferencias colective criated in Iternacional encounter about performance practicies- México 2010 were has been developing a research and workshop that questions the relationships between body and sound . Since 2010 associated artist in permanent researche at the transdisciplinary center O Espaço do Tempo . His work has been presented in Portugal, Spain, France, Mexico and Germany.

Real-time image composition and sonorous composition

Rodolfo Pimenta was born in Sintra in the year of 1979. Since 1996, creates projects related to audiovisual, and has directed animated short films and documentaries.  Co-director of Frame a Frame workshops, currently Oficinas Fotograma 24, developing projects for pedagogical work with children / young people, which results on several animation short films, some of them, awarded, nationally and internationally. At this moment is co-directing a documentary of Panasqueira Mine. Simultaneously, uses image as a visual and sonorous instrument, on Canal Zero project.

David Leitão, graduated in Fine Arts – ESAD Caldas da Rainha 2002, simultaneously developed other works in Music and Performing Arts, highlighting projects as “Orquestrinha do Terror” a fusion between Music & Visual Arts, “Ferloscardo” a Contemporary Circus Show co-produced by CCB where Dance,Music & objects manipulation lived side by side. These projects where presented in several galleries/auditoriums among the country such as, Santiago Alquimista, Galeria Zé dos Bois, Cine-Teatro de Estarreja, Fórum Lisboa(Monstra 2006), Teatro Al Parco( Parma/Itália), Centro Cultural de Belém(CCB), Teatro de Vila Real, Casa da Música, Lugar Comum/ I.Artes, Coliseu dos Recreios de Lisboa, Phono 2005 Award – Phonoteca Municipal de Lisboa, Cine-Teatro António Lamoso… Currently develops his solo work in Music as Doctor Piglet, and with Canal Zero, promoting a particular base analogue by electric guitar and pedals. He is also teaching in Performing Arts – Chapitô, and works frequently in Cooperativa de Gravadores Portugueses where he develops his personal work in Engraving Techniques.
